Category: Domain: Power/UPS, Vendor: Liebert

Description: Provides system-level identification, status, and control objects for Liebert GlobalProducts UPS and power management devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is LIEBERT-GP-SYSTEM-MIB?

LIEBERT-GP-SYSTEM-MIB is Liebert Corporation's (now Vertiv) SNMP module for GlobalProducts-line UPS and precision power/environmental control systems, providing system-level identification, status, and control objects. It exposes an event log/description object, cumulative run-hours statistics, self-test result and control, overall system state, audible alarm control, on/off control, and maintenance date/capacity tracking objects. This is fundamentally a hardware status and control MIB for critical power infrastructure -- it lets admins monitor UPS/system operational state, self-test pass/fail results, cumulative operating hours (an uptime-like runtime counter), alarm conditions, and scheduled maintenance windows, and even issue on/off or self-test commands remotely. As a Liebert/Vertiv proprietary module it doesn't depend on standard IETF power MIBs (like UPS-MIB) but defines its own enterprise object tree for GlobalProducts controllers. It's typically deployed in data centers and telecom facilities monitoring Liebert UPS, PDU, or precision cooling units for power continuity and preventive maintenance, using the LIEBERT-GP-SYSTEM-MIB MIB to poll these objects.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in LIEBERT-GP-SYSTEM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Liebert (Vertiv) GlobalProducts UPS
  • Liebert precision power/environmental control system

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll lgpSysState and lgpSysSelfTestResult to confirm the unit is in normal operation and that its most recent self-test passed, and check lgpSysStatisticsRunHrs to track cumulative operating hours against a maintenance schedule (lgpSysMaintenanceYear/lgpSysMaintenanceMonth). lgpSysEventDescription surfaces the latest logged event/alarm text for triage, while lgpSysAudibleAlarm and lgpSysControlOperationOnOff allow silencing an alarm or power-cycling the unit remotely. A lgpSysSelfTestResult indicating failure combined with an active lgpSysEventDescription entry would signal a UPS needing immediate attention.
