What Is CISCO-IKE-FLOW-MIB?

CISCO-IKE-FLOW-MIB is a Cisco vendor MIB that monitors Internet Key Exchange (IKE) protocol activity underlying IPsec VPN tunnels, modeling both IKEv1 and IKEv2 phase-1 negotiations and their associated phase-2 exchanges. Its central cifIkeTunnelTable holds one entry per active phase-1 IKE tunnel with objects such as cifIkeTunNegoMode, cifIkeTunDHGrp (Diffie-Hellman group), and counters cifIkeTunInP2Exchgs/cifIkeTunOutP2Exchgs, cifIkeTunInP2ExchgRejects/cifIkeTunOutP2ExchgRejects, cifIkeTunInNewGrpReqs/cifIkeTunInNewGrpRejectedReqs, and cifIkeTunTotalRefreshes, while cifIkeGlobalStatsTable and cifIkeTunnelHistTable provide device-wide statistics and historical tunnel records; it also defines notifications like ciscoIkeFlowInNewGrpRejected and ciscoIkeFlowOutNewGrpRejected. An operator polls cifIkeTunnelTable for a given VPN peer to check cifIkeTunInP2ExchgRejects and cifIkeTunOutP2ExchgRejects alongside cifIkeTunDHGrp; a tunnel showing a nonzero and climbing cifIkeTunInP2ExchgRejects count would indicate the peer is rejecting phase-2 (Quick Mode) proposals, pointing to a mismatched IPsec transform set or DH group.
