Description: Declares SNMP agent capabilities for system-level management on Cisco LWAPP wireless LAN controllers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-LWAPP-SYS-CAPABILITY?

This is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module that documents which parts of the CISCO-LWAPP-SYS-MIB (system-level management objects for Cisco LWAPP-based wireless LAN controllers) a specific agent implementation actually supports. It does not itself define or expose any data objects - it is a compliance/conformance-declaration module used by management systems to determine feature support before attempting to poll the underlying MIB. Because it carries no runtime objects, it has no direct role in exposing hardware or software status data itself; instead it indicates the scope of what a given Cisco WLC agent supports within CISCO-LWAPP-SYS-MIB, which is the module that actually carries system-level status such as controller uptime, software version, and general system health. It exists specifically as a companion/dependency declaration for CISCO-LWAPP-SYS-MIB and has no independent monitoring function apart from that relationship. The CISCO-LWAPP-SYS-CAPABILITY MIB would be present in the MIB library of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) running LWAPP, used by SNMP management tools during MIB compliance/capability negotiation rather than for day-to-day polling.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-LWAPP-SYS-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco LWAPP-based Wireless LAN Controller

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance statements describing which CISCO-LWAPP-SYS-MIB objects a given agent implements, with no data objects or notifications of its own, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe. An NMS would consult it only to determine feature/object support before polling the actual CISCO-LWAPP-SYS-MIB objects on a Cisco wireless LAN controller.
