Category: Cisco Devices, Hardware and Environment

Description: Provides management objects for local storage controller, disk inventory, RAID configuration, and storage health on Cisco UCS/Firepower compute nodes.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-STORAGE-MIB?

CISCO-FIREPOWER-STORAGE-MIB is a Cisco-proprietary MIB in the Firepower/UCS management-information-model family that models the local storage subsystem of Cisco Firepower compute nodes — local disk/RAID controllers, disk inventory, and storage security policy. Its object set spans storage controller configuration (including RAID and self-encrypting-drive key management), disk inventory attributes, and storage health/fault state. As a hardware status MIB it is used to confirm local disks and RAID controllers are healthy, correctly configured, and — via its authentication-key tables — properly secured, helping catch disk failures, RAID degradation, or misconfigured drive security before data loss occurs. It belongs to the same Firepower/UCS object model as CISCO-FIREPOWER-POWER-MIB and CISCO-FIREPOWER-MAPPINGS-MIB and shares their containment/DN conventions. CISCO-FIREPOWER-STORAGE-MIB SNMP monitoring is deployed on Cisco Firepower 9300/4100-series appliances and UCS-based compute blades managed through UCS Manager or FXOS.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-STORAGE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Firepower security appliance (9300/4100 series)
  • Cisco UCS compute blade/storage controller

Monitoring Examples

An admin can walk cfprStorageAuthKeyTable and inspect cfprStorageAuthKeyName, cfprStorageAuthKeyType, and cfprStorageAuthKeyPolicyOwner to confirm which self-encrypting-drive authentication keys are configured and which policy owns them, important when auditing storage security before a drive replacement. cfprStorageAuthKeyPolicyLevel shows whether the key policy is inherited from a higher-level policy or set locally, letting an operator spot storage nodes whose encryption configuration has drifted from the standard template. Because the sampled objects here focus on key/policy management rather than raw disk-health counters, this table is best used for storage security/configuration auditing, though the wider MIB (per its description) also covers disk inventory and RAID health.

What Can Be Monitored

  • storage controller authentication key configuration
  • self-encrypting drive key policy ownership
  • key policy inheritance level
  • RAID/disk inventory (per module scope)
