Category: Cisco Devices, Hardware and Environment

Description: Provides management objects for system debug, core dump configuration, and troubleshooting settings on Cisco UCS/Firepower platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-SYSDEBUG-MIB?

This is a Cisco MIB for the Firepower platform, modeled within Cisco's UCS management information model, exposing system debug, core-dump, and troubleshooting configuration objects. It provides a table of per-adaptor core statistics, including instance/slot identifiers and counts of core dumps with a flag for excessive core generation, along with a table for configuring automatic export targets where core files are sent after a crash. It directly supports monitoring the software stability/health of Firepower system adaptors by tracking how often components are crashing (generating core files) and whether that rate is excessive, a key software-fault indicator distinct from simple uptime, and by confirming crash dumps are properly exported for diagnosis. It is modeled within Cisco's broader UCS/Firepower management information model, so it depends on and is used alongside other CISCO-FIREPOWER-*/CISCO-UCS-* MIB modules for full adaptor-identity context. It is deployed on Cisco Firepower/UCS-based security appliances, where support engineers monitor core-dump counts and export configuration to catch recurring software crashes and ensure diagnostic data reaches the right destination, making the CISCO-FIREPOWER-SYSDEBUG-MIB MIB central to that crash-monitoring workflow.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-SYSDEBUG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Firepower security appliance
  • Cisco UCS-based platform

Monitoring Examples

A support engineer polls cfprSysdebugAdaptorCoreStatsTable/cfprSysdebugAdaptorCoreStatsEntry rows, identified by cfprSysdebugAdaptorCoreStatsAdaptorId and cfprSysdebugAdaptorCoreStatsSlotId, to check cfprSysdebugAdaptorCoreStatsNumCore for the number of core dumps generated by an adaptor. If cfprSysdebugAdaptorCoreStatsExcessiveCore is set, that flags the adaptor as crashing abnormally often, warranting escalation; the cfprSysdebugAutoCoreFileExportTargetTable/cfprSysdebugAutoCoreFileExportTargetEntry rows are then checked to confirm those core files are being automatically exported to the configured troubleshooting destination.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-adaptor core dump count
  • excessive core-generation flag
  • core file auto-export target configuration
  • adaptor/slot identification
