Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CENTRECOM-VLAN-MIB?

CENTRECOM-VLAN-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Allied Telesis for its CentreCOM switch line, providing objects to manage IEEE 802.1Q VLAN configuration and per-port VLAN membership. As a "Virtual LAN objects" module, it is intended to expose VLAN definitions (ID, name) and the mapping of switch ports to one or more VLANs, including tagged/untagged membership. In monitoring terms it supports configuration verification of the switch's Layer 2 segmentation -- confirming a port is a member of the expected VLAN(s) and that VLAN definitions match intended network design, which helps diagnose connectivity issues caused by VLAN misconfiguration rather than hardware faults. It is built on top of the IEEE 802.1Q standard and typically complements the standard Q-BRIDGE-MIB / BRIDGE-MIB for full switch VLAN and bridging management. It would typically be deployed on Allied Telesis CentreCOM switches in SMB or campus LAN environments using VLAN segmentation, with the CENTRECOM-VLAN-MIB MIB exposed via SNMP for that verification.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CENTRECOM-VLAN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Allied Telesis CentreCOM Ethernet switch

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided in the source beyond the general module description, so specific object/table names cannot be honestly cited. In general use, an administrator would expect to poll VLAN membership and per-port tagging objects in this MIB to confirm a device connected to a given switch port is landing in the correct VLAN, useful when troubleshooting unexpected broadcast domain or connectivity issues.
