Description: Manages D-Link switch VLAN membership, tagging, and port assignment configuration.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is MY-VLAN-MIB?
MY-VLAN-MIB is a D-Link proprietary MIB that manages standard 802.1Q VLAN configuration on D-Link switches, covering VLAN creation, port membership, and tagging behavior. It exposes overall VLAN capacity objects, a per-port VLAN configuration table with access VLAN, native VLAN, and allowed-VLAN-list settings, and a VLAN definition table keyed by VLAN ID. This is a Layer-2 configuration MIB, not a hardware-health MIB: administrators use it to audit VLAN assignments per port, confirm trunk ports carry the expected allowed VLANs, and verify VLAN capacity isn't being exhausted. It parallels the standard Q-BRIDGE-MIB's VLAN and port-VLAN objects but with D-Link's own naming and additional convenience fields. It is deployed on D-Link managed switches across enterprise and campus networks wherever VLAN segmentation is used to separate traffic domains. Engineers can download the MY-VLAN-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MY-VLAN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- D-Link managed switch
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks myVlanIfConfigTable for a given myVlanIfConfigIfIndex to confirm myVlanIfAccessVlan and myVlanIfNativeVlan match the intended port role (access vs. trunk), and reviews myVlanIfAllowedVlanList to verify a trunk port carries only the expected VLANs. Comparing myVlanCurrentNumber against myVlanMaxNumber flags when the switch is nearing its VLAN capacity limit before a new VLAN rollout. A port unexpectedly passing traffic for an unauthorized VLAN would show up as an unexpected entry in myVlanIfAllowedVlanList.
What Can Be Monitored
- VLAN count vs. maximum capacity
- per-port access/native VLAN
- trunk port allowed VLAN list
- VLAN ID table entries
