atiVlanProtocolId

Module: CENTRECOM-VLAN-MIB

OID (symbolic): CENTRECOM-VLAN-MIB::atiVlanProtocolId

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.207.8.12.2.4.5.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The protocol ID: for entries of type ethertype(2) or llcSnapEthertype(4) this represents a 16-bit protocol ID. For entries of type llc(3) it represents a concatenation of LLC DSAP+SSAP in network byte order. This value is not valid for atiVlanProtocolDllEncapsType values of any(1) or none(5).

What is atiVlanProtocolId?

This is the actual numeric protocol identifier being matched, either a 16-bit EtherType value for ethertype(2) or llcSnapEthertype(4) entries, or a concatenated DSAP+SSAP pair in network byte order for llc(3) entries, and it's meaningless and rejected when atiVlanProtocolDllEncapsType is set to the wildcard any(1) or none(5). A wrong or reversed byte-order value here silently fails to match any real traffic, leaving the intended protocol-based VLAN rule inert. An admin classifying legacy AppleTalk traffic by EtherType would enter 0x809B, 33179 decimal, here alongside encapsulation type ethertype(2).

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.207.8.12.2.4.5.1.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CENTRECOM-VLAN-MIB::atiVlanProtocolId

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.207.8.12.2.4.5.1.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CENTRECOM-VLAN-MIB::atiVlanProtocolId.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.207.8.12.2.4.5.1.1.5.1 i <value>
