atiVlanProtocolName

Module: CENTRECOM-VLAN-MIB

OID (symbolic): CENTRECOM-VLAN-MIB::atiVlanProtocolName

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.207.8.12.2.4.5.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: A human-readable string representing this protocol. This string should be the same for all entries sharing a given atiVlanProtocolIndex. A atiVlanProtocolEntry with atiVlanProtocolName of ANY represents a match on all protocols: this entry may not be modified.

What is atiVlanProtocolName?

This is the human-readable label attached to a protocol-based VLAN grouping, and the description notes all entries sharing the same atiVlanProtocolIndex should carry the identical name string, with the special reserved name ANY marking the wildcard entry that matches every protocol not explicitly listed and can't be edited. It matters for keeping a multi-row protocol table readable, since numeric protocol IDs alone don't tell an admin at a glance what traffic type a grouping represents. Seeing an entry named ANY in this table tells the admin that's the catch-all fallback rule, not a typo or an editable custom protocol name.
