What Is ADTX-RAID-AVCL-MIB?

This MIB module manages ADTX (Areca Technology) RAID controllers, providing an array virtual channel list (AVCL) inventory of logical drives, physical disks, and host systems attached to the RAID subsystem. It exposes hardware status data such as device count, per-device system version, manufacturer, and product name, along with general event information for the RAID array. This is explicitly a hardware/storage health MIB: administrators use it to confirm the number and identity of disks/devices attached to the controller, detect newly added or missing drives, and review event log entries that may indicate disk failures or a degraded array state. It is a vendor-specific MIB tied to Areca's RAID firmware and does not appear to build on standard IETF storage MIBs. It is typically deployed on servers or NAS/storage appliances using Areca-based (ADTX) RAID controllers to monitor disk array health and inventory. Engineers can download the ADTX-RAID-AVCL-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll avclNumOfDevices and iterate avclDeviceInformationTable, checking avclDeviceIP, avclDeviceSystemVersion, avclDeviceManufacturer, and avclDeviceProductName for each avclDeviceIndex to inventory attached RAID/disk devices. A drop in avclNumOfDevices or a new entry in avclEventInfo would indicate a physical disk was removed or a RAID event (such as a disk failure or rebuild) occurred, prompting the admin to check the array's redundancy state.
