All MIBs › ADTX-SMI
Category: Fibre Channel and Storage, SNMP Framework
Description: Defines the ADTX enterprise SMI root OID structure and registration objects for Areca RAID controller MIB modules.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ADTX-SMI?
ADTX-SMI is the Structure of Management Information (SMI) root registration module for Areca Technology's RAID controller product line, defining the top-level enterprise OID arborescence (adtx, adtxReg, adtxGeneric, adtxProducts, adtxExpr) under which Areca's actual RAID management MIBs register their object identifiers. It is not itself a data-bearing MIB — it exposes no interfaces, sensors, counters, or fault objects — but instead serves as the naming/registration scaffold that other Areca MIB modules build upon. Consequently it has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status; any RAID controller health data (disk status, battery status, cache status, etc.) would live in a separate, dependent Areca product MIB that imports from this SMI root. Its dependency relationship runs in the opposite direction from most MIBs: other Areca MIBs depend on ADTX-SMI for their OID assignments, rather than this module depending on external standards. It is deployed only as a supporting artifact alongside Areca RAID controller MIB packages, never polled directly for monitoring data, though the ADTX-SMI MIB itself must still be compiled first since dependent product modules import their OID assignments from it.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADTX-SMI. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
This module is a pure OID-registration/SMI root with no runtime data objects — it defines adtx, adtxReg, adtxGeneric, adtxProducts, and adtxExpr purely as branch points for other Areca MIBs to register under, so there is no realistic polling or monitoring scenario to describe for it directly; actual RAID status data would be found in a separate Areca product MIB.
