What Is ADTRAN-MEF-PER-COS-PER-EVC-TOTAL-COUNT-MIB?
ADTRAN-MEF-PER-COS-PER-EVC-TOTAL-COUNT-MIB is an ADTRAN vendor MIB, implemented on AOS (ADTRAN Operating System) products, that provides high-capacity MEF (Metro Ethernet Forum) performance statistics broken down per Class of Service (CoS) per Ethernet Virtual Connection (EVC). It exposes granular traffic counters such as ingress green/yellow/red frame and octet counts per queue, per EVC, aligned with MEF carrier Ethernet color-marking (green/yellow/red) conventions. Its monitoring purpose is squarely performance-counter based: it lets administrators verify Ethernet service SLA compliance by tracking conforming (green), partially conforming (yellow), and non-conforming/discarded (red) traffic for each service and CoS queue, revealing congestion or policing behavior on a carrier Ethernet link. It depends on MEF's standard CoS/EVC color-marking model and complements ADTRAN's broader carrier Ethernet MIB set. It is deployed on ADTRAN AOS-based carrier Ethernet access/aggregation devices used by service providers to deliver and monitor MEF-compliant Ethernet services. Engineers can download the ADTRAN-MEF-PER-COS-PER-EVC-TOTAL-COUNT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADTRAN-MEF-PER-COS-PER-EVC-TOTAL-COUNT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ADTRAN AOS-based carrier Ethernet access/aggregation device
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll adMefPerCosPerEvcTcTable/adMefPerCosPerEvcTcEntry, keyed by adMefPerCosPerEvcTcEvcNameFixedLen and adMefPerCosPerEvcTcQueueNumber, to compare adMefPerCosPerEvcTotalIngressGreenFrames against adMefPerCosPerEvcTotalIngressYellowFrames and adMefPerCosPerEvcTotalIngressRedFrames for a given EVC/CoS queue. A rising count of yellow or red frames relative to green would indicate the service is exceeding its committed information rate and experiencing policing or discard, a sign of SLA violation or oversubscription.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-EVC per-CoS ingress green/yellow/red frame counts
- per-EVC per-CoS ingress octet counts
- queue-level traffic conformance
- MEF service SLA compliance
