What Is ADTRAN-AOS?

ADTRAN-AOS is the enterprise root MIB for the ADTRAN Operating System (AOS) platform, the firmware running on ADTRAN's router, switch, and access gateway product lines. It defines only the base enterprise OID node under which every other AOS-specific MIB module (covering interfaces, voice, environment, and configuration) registers its objects. With no objects of its own, it has no direct monitoring role for hardware or software status; that capability is provided entirely by the AOS MIB modules that build on top of this root. Practical ADTRAN-AOS SNMP monitoring of interface, voice, and environmental status therefore requires loading those dependent AOS MIB modules alongside this root. It is a structural dependency for the entire family of AOS MIBs, similar to how other vendors use a single enterprise root to organize dozens of product MIBs. It is present in any management environment that polls ADTRAN routers, switches, or Total Access gateways running AOS firmware.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADTRAN-AOS. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ADTRAN SDG-8733/8734 (2024) — carrier-class tri-band Wi-Fi 7 10G Service Delivery Gateway routers
  • ADTRAN NetVanta series — current AOS-based managed switch line, up to 200 Gbps switching capacity

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects are defined in this module; it exists solely to declare the Adtran OS enterprise tree node that anchors all other AOS MIBs. There is no monitoring scenario to describe because it contains no scalars, tables, or notifications itself.
