What Is ZYXEL-IESCOMMON-MIB?

ZYXEL-IESCOMMON-MIB is a ZyXEL enterprise MIB defining objects common to the IES (Integrated Ethernet Switch) family of DSL access platforms, acting as a shared foundational module rather than a feature-specific one. It typically supplies common data types, textual conventions, and OID subtree anchors that other ZyXEL IES-series MIBs build on, rather than exposing runtime data itself. As a foundational module it has limited direct monitoring value on its own, but it underpins hardware/software status monitoring indirectly by providing the shared card/slot/port indexing conventions used by the platform's line-card, alarm, and performance MIBs. It is explicitly depended upon by the broader ZyXEL IES-series DSL access MIB suite. It is deployed in DSLAM/IES chassis-based DSL access multiplexer environments used by carriers and ISPs to aggregate subscriber DSL lines. Engineers can download the ZYXEL-IESCOMMON-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZYXEL-IESCOMMON-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ZyXEL IES-series DSL access multiplexer (DSLAM)

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided, and given its role as a common definitions module with no further module description, it likely contains shared textual conventions and OID subtree definitions rather than pollable runtime counters; a realistic monitoring scenario cannot be honestly constructed from this data alone. The IES-series MIBs that import from this common module are the ones an administrator would actually poll for line-card or port status.

RFC description

Manages IES-series device configuration including DSL, DHCP, VLAN, STP, and module management across chassis platforms.

Start monitoring ZyXEL IES-series DSL access multiplexer (DSLAM) (shared card/slot/port indexing support, no independent runtime data) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
