What Is ZyXEL-COE-MIB?

ZyXEL-COE-MIB is a ZyXEL private enterprise MIB for Central Office Equipment (COE), covering ZyXEL DSLAM management and subscriber-line provisioning, placing it in the DSL access/central-office equipment category. It exposes configuration and status objects for DSLAM shelves/slots/ports and the subscriber DSL lines they terminate, spanning both provisioning, such as line profile assignment, and operational status. Its monitoring emphasis includes both chassis-level hardware status, such as card/slot presence and state, and per-subscriber line status, making it useful for tracking whether DSLAM hardware modules are healthy and whether individual subscriber lines are up and correctly provisioned. It typically works alongside a corresponding DSL line MIB, such as ZYXEL-VDSLLINE-MIB or a standard xDSL line MIB, that provides the detailed per-line performance counters, with COE-MIB providing the chassis/slot/provisioning context. It is typically deployed in central-office or cabinet DSLAM installations where ZyXEL COE equipment aggregates and provisions many subscriber DSL lines. Engineers can download the ZyXEL-COE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZyXEL-COE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • DSLAM card/slot status
  • subscriber line provisioning profile
  • per-line operational status

Supported Devices

  • ZyXEL DSLAM Central Office Equipment

Monitoring Examples

An operator would check the status of a DSLAM card/slot to confirm it is present and operating normally, then check the provisioning/line-profile assignment and operational status of a specific subscriber's port to troubleshoot a reported connectivity issue. A slot reported as missing or in a fault state would explain why an entire group of subscriber lines on that card are simultaneously down, versus a single subscriber line showing a provisioning mismatch when only one customer is affected. No sample objects were listed for this MIB, so exact table/column names are unconfirmed, but the functional data centers on slot/card status and per-line provisioning/status.
