Category: Textual Conventions and Registries

Description: Root MIB module for ZyXEL Communications, defining the top-level OID hierarchy and product categories for ZyXEL network devices including routers, switches, and DSLAMs.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ZYXEL-MIB?

ZYXEL-MIB, often just called the zyxel mib, is ZyXEL Communications' root enterprise MIB module, establishing the top-level OID hierarchy and product-category structure under which ZyXEL's actual device and feature MIB modules are registered. It does not itself expose operational data; it defines the organizational tree distinguishing product families such as routers, switches, and DSLAM equipment within ZyXEL's private enterprise number. Because it carries no runtime objects, it is not directly used to check hardware or software status, but every ZyXEL device MIB that does report interface, environmental, or system health data is registered beneath this module's hierarchy. It depends only on the base SNMP private-enterprise numbering scheme and is imported implicitly by ZyXEL's product-specific MIBs. It is deployed wherever ZyXEL routers, switches, or DSLAM equipment are managed via SNMP.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZYXEL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ZyXEL routers, switches, and DSLAM equipment

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only the top-level OID tree and product-category structure, with no runtime data objects or tables, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; it exists to organize and anchor ZyXEL's other, device-specific MIB modules.
