What Is ZXR10-MPLS-ICCP-MIB?
ZXR10-MPLS-ICCP-MIB is a ZTE private module implementing managed objects for the Inter-Chassis Communication Protocol (ICCP), used to coordinate L2VPN Provider Edge (PE) redundancy across two chassis in ZXR10 MPLS routers. It exposes configuration tables for redundancy groups and peer relationships, including group identifiers, hostnames, and per-application redundancy settings. For monitoring, it is used to check the software status of the multi-chassis redundancy control plane, such as whether a redundancy group's peer PE is correctly configured and reachable, which is critical to confirming failover readiness for L2VPN services. It has an explicit dependency on the IETF ICCP specification for L2VPN PE redundancy and interacts with MPLS L2VPN pseudowire MIBs on the same device. It is deployed on pairs of ZXR10 routers configured for dual-homed L2VPN access in service-provider networks requiring high-availability PE redundancy, with network engineers typically starting from a ZXR10-MPLS-ICCP-MIB download to load the module into their management systems.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZXR10-MPLS-ICCP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ZTE ZXR10 MPLS router (dual-homed PE pair)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll zxr10IccpRgCfgTable (zxr10IccpRgCfgRgId, zxr10IccpRgCfgHostname) to confirm a redundancy group is correctly configured with the expected local hostname, and check zxr10IccpRgPeerCfgTable (zxr10IccpRgPeerCfgPeerLsrId) to verify the peer chassis's LSR ID is registered for that group. Reviewing zxr10IccpRgAppCfgTable entries confirms which applications (e.g., specific L2VPN services) are bound to the redundancy group. A missing or mismatched peer entry would reveal a broken inter-chassis redundancy relationship, risking an uncovered failover if the active PE goes down.
What Can Be Monitored
- ICCP redundancy group configuration
- peer chassis LSR ID registration
- application-to-redundancy-group binding
- redundancy group hostname
