zxr10IccpRgPeerState

Module: ZXR10-MPLS-ICCP-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZXR10-MPLS-ICCP-MIB::zxr10IccpRgPeerState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3902.3.314.2.2.4.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Indicates the status of the rg connect.

What is zxr10IccpRgPeerState?

zxr10IccpRgPeerState indicates the status of the redundancy group's connection to its ICCP peer, per its description, using values nonconnect, connectingsent, connectingrec, and connected, defaulting to nonconnect. An admin monitors this to know whether the ICCP session to the peer chassis is actually up, since the various application-level synchronizations (mLACP, mc-port, mc-pw, ARP, MAC) all depend on this peer connection being established. For example, zxr10IccpRgPeerState stuck at connectingsent(2) rather than reaching connected(4) would tell an admin the ICCP peer connection is failing to establish, likely due to a network or configuration mismatch between the two chassis.

Examples

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> zxr10IccpRgPeerState.1

Start monitoring ZTE ZXR10 MPLS router, dual-homed PE pair (Inter-Chassis Communication Protocol redundancy-group status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Create custom SNMP monitor using the ZXR10-MPLS-ICCP-MIB::zxr10IccpRgPeerState OID value, configure state conditions and alerts, and monitor any ZTE ZXR10 MPLS router, dual-homed PE pair (Inter-Chassis Communication Protocol redundancy-group status) from a single console.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Select a ZTE ZXR10 MPLS router, dual-homed PE pair (Inter-Chassis Communication Protocol redundancy-group status) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type zxr10IccpRgPeerState into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, selecting the specific row/instance you want to monitor since this is a table column, then select it and click OK. Indicates the status of the rg connect. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an INTEGER-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the value is anything other than 'connected', since that indicates the condition this object reports has changed to one worth investigating. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
