What Is ZHONE-COM-VOIP-MIB?
ZHONE-COM-VOIP-MIB is a Zhone Technologies enterprise MIB for managing VoIP service configuration on Zhone access/CPE products, covering SIP proxy settings, RTP media parameters, and dial-plan configuration. It exposes service-configuration objects that define how the device registers with a SIP proxy, negotiates RTP media streams, and interprets dialed digits. Its monitoring role centers on software/service status: administrators poll SIP registration state to confirm the device is successfully registered with its configured proxy, and check RTP parameter and dial-plan configuration to diagnose call-setup or media-quality problems. It depends on the IETF SIP (RFC 3261) and RTP (RFC 3550) standards as the underlying protocols it configures and reports on. It is deployed on Zhone VoIP CPE and access gateways providing residential or business VoIP service over a broadband access line. Engineers can download the ZHONE-COM-VOIP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll the SIP proxy configuration and registration-status object to confirm the device is currently registered with its configured proxy server, the first thing to check when a subscriber reports no dial tone. RTP parameter objects would be checked to confirm the negotiated codec and media port range match expectations when troubleshooting one-way audio or call-quality complaints. Dial-plan configuration objects would be reviewed to confirm digit-matching rules are correctly routing calls. Because no sample objects were captured for this MIB, exact object/table names cannot be confirmed beyond what the short description indicates.
