Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ZHNWIRELESS?

ZHNWIRELESS is a Zhone Technologies proprietary MIB configuring Wi-Fi radio parameters on Zhone ZNID residential gateway CPE devices. Its base-configuration table, keyed by radio index, records enable state, band, configured/current channel, bandwidth, auto-scan timer, MIMO settings (Nwc encoding, N-rate, N-protection), N-clients-only mode, 54g rate, multicast/basic rate, fragmentation/RTS thresholds, DTIM interval, beacon interval, global max-client count, XPress mode, transmit power percentage, and WMM enable/no-ack settings. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm a residential gateway's Wi-Fi channel and power settings, useful when troubleshooting subscriber Wi-Fi complaints. It is deployed on Zhone Technologies ZNID residential gateway CPE devices. Engineers can download the ZHNWIRELESS file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZHNWIRELESS. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Zhone Technologies ZNID residential gateway CPE devices

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks wlBaseCfgCurrentChannel and wlBaseCfgTxPowerPercent on a subscriber's Zhone ZNID gateway to diagnose a reported weak Wi-Fi signal complaint.

What Can Be Monitored
