What Is TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-AP-TC?

TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-AP-TC is a Trapeze Networks (a wireless LAN vendor later acquired by Juniper Networks) textual-conventions-only MIB module, defining shared SNMP data types used across Trapeze's wireless Access Point (AP) and Access Controller (AC, i.e., wireless switch) MIB suite. As a pure TC module, it does not itself expose monitorable objects or tables; instead, it defines common types, such as AP identifiers, radio indices, and state enumerations, that other Trapeze MIBs import to represent AP and radio information. Because of this, it has no direct role in monitoring hardware/software status on its own, but it underpins the type-safety of AP operational-state, uptime, and radio-status objects reported by companion Trapeze MIBs. It functions as a foundational dependency imported by Trapeze's AP-status and radio MIB modules, similar in role to the IETF's SNMPv2-TC module. It's used in enterprise WLAN deployments where a Trapeze (Juniper) wireless switch (Access Controller) manages a fleet of access points, and administrators typically download TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-AP-TC together with its companion Trapeze MIBs before compiling them into a network management station.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-AP-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples

This module contains no directly pollable objects; instead, other Trapeze MIBs import its textual conventions, for example an AP state enumeration, to represent whether an access point is registered, active, or down in an AP status table. A network management station relies on these shared type definitions to correctly interpret AP and radio status objects reported through the companion per-AP and per-radio MIB modules, rather than polling TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-AP-TC directly.
