What Is Wellfleet-HSSI-MIB?

Wellfleet-HSSI-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Wellfleet Communications that models High-Speed Serial Interface (HSSI) line configuration and statistics on Wellfleet routers. Its single table, wfHssiTable, indexed by wfHssiSlot and wfHssiConnector, covers line provisioning (wfHssiMtu, wfHssiWanProtocol — standard/PPP/Frame Relay/SMDS/ATM/switch, wfHssiTransmissionInterface for T1 vs T3, wfHssiExternalClkSpeed, wfHssiCrcSize) and operational state (wfHssiState: up/lmiwait/boflwait/init/loopback modes/not-present), alongside a large set of counter objects for traffic and fault statistics — wfHssiRxOctets/Frames and wfHssiTxOctets/Frames for throughput, wfHssiInDiscards/InErrors/OutDiscards/OutErrors for delivery failures, and lower-level fault counters like wfHssiRxCrcErrors, wfHssiRxOverruns, wfHssiRxAborts, wfHssiTxUnderruns, and ring/host/internal operation error counters. An operator polls wfHssiTable to check wfHssiRxCrcErrors and wfHssiRxOverruns against wfHssiRxFrames for a given slot/connector; a rising ratio of CRC errors or overruns to good frames would indicate a clocking mismatch or cabling problem on that HSSI trunk.
