Category: Videoframe Broadcast Monitoring

Description: Monitors Videoframe VM0010 broadcast signal parameters and quality metrics in production environments.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is VIDEOFRAME-SIGMON-VM0010-MIB?

This is a Videoframe Systems device-specific MIB for the VM0010 GPO (General Purpose Output) relay module, part of the broader VF-SIGMON broadcast signal-monitoring product family. It exposes module slot identity and active/locate status plus a table of GPO relay closures, including each relay's state, name, description, and interface assignment. For monitoring it reports hardware status directly: whether the module is active in its slot (vm0010Active), a physical locate/identify indicator (vm0010Locate), and the open/closed state of each GPO relay closure used to signal alarm conditions on the broadcast signal path. It explicitly augments MIB-2, VF-GENERIC, and VF-SIGMON, so it depends on those companion MIBs for base system identification and signal-monitoring context. It is deployed in broadcast production and master control room equipment racks where VM0010 GPO modules provide relay-based alarm/tally signaling, defined by the VIDEOFRAME-SIGMON-VM0010-MIB MIB.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in VIDEOFRAME-SIGMON-VM0010-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Videoframe Systems VM0010 GPO relay module
  • broadcast/production signal monitoring equipment

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll vm0010Table/vm0010Entry keyed by vm0010SlotNumber to confirm vm0010Active status for the module, then check vm0010GPORelayTable entries indexed by vm0010GPORelaySlotNumber and vm0010GPORelayNumber for vm0010GPOClosureState - a relay stuck closed or open on a named closure (vm0010GPOClosureName) would indicate a relay hardware fault or an unexpected alarm condition triggered on the broadcast signal path.

What Can Be Monitored

  • module active/slot status
  • module locate indicator
  • GPO relay closure state
  • GPO relay name/description
  • GPO interface assignment

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using vm0010Active OID:

Select a Videoframe Systems VM0010 GPO relay module, broadcast/production signal monitoring equipment (relay open/closed status) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type vm0010Active into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, selecting the specific row/instance you want to monitor since this is a table column, then select it and click OK. Indicates whether this entry is active (this module is in this slot). On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an INTEGER-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the value is anything other than 'active', since that indicates the condition this object reports has changed to one worth investigating. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
