Description: MIB for managing IEEE 802.3ad link aggregation groups and redundancy port assignments on Ubiquoss PON access equipment
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is UBQS-PON-LAG-MIB?
UBQS-PON-LAG-MIB is a Ubiquoss enterprise MIB implementing IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation Group (LAG) management for Ubiquoss Passive Optical Network (PON) access equipment such as OLTs. It exposes configuration objects for link aggregation groups and redundant port assignments, allowing operators to define which physical ports are bonded together or serve as standby/redundant links. Its primary monitoring value is hardware/link status: verifying which port is currently acting as the active versus redundant member of a LAG, which is essential for detecting a failed uplink port or an unexpected failover event on PON access nodes. It explicitly builds on the IEEE 802.3ad link aggregation standard, layering Ubiquoss-specific redundancy-port semantics on top of that standard model. It is deployed in FTTH/PON access network environments where Ubiquoss OLT or aggregation switches provide uplink resiliency. Engineers can download the UBQS-PON-LAG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in UBQS-PON-LAG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ubiquoss PON OLT
- Ubiquoss access aggregation switch
Monitoring Examples
An operator would check ubiPonRedundancyPort to determine which port is currently designated as the redundant/standby member of a link aggregation group on a Ubiquoss PON access switch. Combined with standard IEEE8023-LAG-MIB aggregation state objects, this reveals whether the primary uplink has failed over to its redundant port. A mismatch between the configured and operational redundant port would indicate a hardware link failure on the primary port that has not yet triggered fail-back.
What Can Be Monitored
- redundant port assignment
- link aggregation group membership
