Description: MIB for configuring and monitoring Quality of Service class maps, policy maps, and service-policy bindings on Ubiquoss network devices

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is UBQS-QOS-MIB?

UBQS-QOS-MIB is a Ubiquoss enterprise MIB for configuring and monitoring Quality of Service (QoS) features on Ubiquoss network devices, structured around the standard class-map/policy-map/service-policy model. It groups its objects into class-map, policy-map, and service-policy sub-trees, exposing configuration of traffic classification rules, the policies (e.g. shaping, marking, queuing) built from those classes, and the binding of policies to specific interfaces or services. This MIB is used to monitor the software-level QoS configuration status of the device -- specifically whether the intended class maps and policy maps are correctly defined and successfully applied via service-policy bindings -- functioning as a traffic-management configuration and verification MIB rather than exposing hardware sensor data. Its class-map/policy-map naming convention conceptually mirrors the structure used in IETF DIFFSERV-MIB-style QoS models, though it is an independent enterprise implementation. It is typically deployed in Ubiquoss access/aggregation network equipment where per-service QoS enforcement must be verified. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the UBQS-QOS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in UBQS-QOS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ubiquoss network access/aggregation devices

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll ubiClassMapMIBObjects and ubiPolicyMapMIBObjects to confirm the traffic classification rules and associated policy actions are defined as expected, then check ubiServicePolicyMIBObjects to verify a policy has actually been bound to the intended interface or service. A missing or unexpected service-policy binding would reveal that QoS enforcement (e.g. rate limiting for a subscriber service) is not being applied as configured.

What Can Be Monitored

  • class map definitions
  • policy map configuration
  • service-policy bindings
  • QoS enforcement status
