TEXTUAL-CONVENTION

What Is UBQS-TC?

UBQS-TC is a textual-convention MIB defining Ubiquoss-specific enumerated types and shared data types used across all Ubiquoss UBQS product MIBs, such as bridge identifier representations distinguishing default and backbone bridge IDs. As a TC-only module it contains no runtime objects itself; it standardizes the vocabulary (e.g., bridge ID ranges and special values like the default bridge 1000 and backbone 1001) that other Ubiquoss MIBs use consistently when describing bridging/VLAN-related state. Its relevance to device monitoring is indirect, underpinning correct interpretation of bridge-related status and configuration reported by other UBQS MIBs rather than exposing hardware/software health itself. It depends on standard SNMPv2-SMI/SNMPv2-TC conventions and is imported wherever Ubiquoss bridging concepts appear. It is used wherever Ubiquoss UBQS-series access/aggregation switching equipment is managed via SNMP, and since no standalone UBQS-TC download exists with runtime objects, engineers retrieve it alongside whichever specific Ubiquoss product MIB they intend to poll.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in UBQS-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ubiquoss UBQS-series access/aggregation switch

Monitoring Examples

This is a textual-conventions-only module (defining bridge ID types such as the default bridge 1000 and backbone bridge 1001) with no runtime data objects, so no direct monitoring scenario applies; actual bridge/VLAN status using these bridge ID types would be exposed by other Ubiquoss UBQS product MIBs that import this convention.
