Description: MIB for managing RSVP-TE traffic engineering tunnels, LSP paths, and tunnel affinity attributes on Ubiquoss MPLS-capable network devices

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is UBQS-MPLS-RSVP-MIB?

UBQS-MPLS-RSVP-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP module from Ubiquoss for managing MPLS traffic engineering via RSVP-TE on their MPLS-capable switch/router products. It exposes objects for configuring and monitoring RSVP-TE tunnels, label-switched path (LSP) state, and tunnel affinity/attribute constraints used for traffic engineering path selection. From a monitoring standpoint it is used to track tunnel and LSP operational status, detecting when a traffic-engineered path fails to establish or falls back to a secondary path, which is a software/protocol-state health indicator rather than a hardware sensor. It builds on and extends concepts from the IETF MPLS-TE-MIB and RSVP-TE standards (RFC 3209/3812) for the vendor's own management tree. It is typically deployed in service provider core/aggregation networks running MPLS-TE to guarantee bandwidth and path diversity for critical traffic. Engineers can download the UBQS-MPLS-RSVP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in UBQS-MPLS-RSVP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ubiquoss MPLS-capable router/switch

Monitoring Examples

An operator polling ubiRsvpGlobal and the RSVP objects under ubiRsvpMIBObjects can check whether RSVP-TE signaling is globally enabled and view counts of active sessions on the router. Tunnel and LSP status entries (not explicitly named in the sample objects but implied by the RSVP tunnel model) would be checked to confirm a traffic-engineered LSP is up and using its intended path rather than a backup. A tunnel that repeatedly fails RSVP signaling and re-establishes on a secondary path would show up as flapping LSP state, indicating a resource reservation or link failure along the primary path.

What Can Be Monitored

  • RSVP-TE global status
  • tunnel/LSP operational state
  • tunnel affinity/path attributes
  • RSVP session counts
