Description: MIB for managing MPLS label-switching operations including push, pop, and swap label actions on Ubiquoss carrier-grade networking devices
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is UBQS-MPLS-MIB?
UBQS-MPLS-MIB manages MPLS label-switching operations on Ubiquoss carrier-grade networking devices, covering label push, pop, and swap actions used to build and maintain label-switched paths (LSPs). It exposes MPLS global configuration objects and an LSP trace/diagnostic facility (ubiMplsTrace, ubiLspTraceSend) alongside the standard notification and conformance branches. Its monitoring value centers on MPLS forwarding-plane software status: an operator uses the trace facility to actively test whether a given LSP is correctly forwarding labeled traffic end-to-end, and relies on ubiMplsMIBNotifications to be alerted to MPLS-related fault conditions such as an LSP going down. It is a vendor implementation aligned with the general MPLS architecture (RFC 3031 and related IETF MPLS standards) though the objects themselves are Ubiquoss-proprietary rather than the standard MPLS-LSR-MIB. It is deployed on Ubiquoss carrier Ethernet/MPLS switches used to provide MPLS-based transport services in service-provider networks, making the UBQS-MPLS-MIB MIB a standard tool for verifying label-switched-path health across those deployments.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in UBQS-MPLS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ubiquoss carrier Ethernet/MPLS switch
Monitoring Examples
An operator would use ubiLspTraceSend to initiate an MPLS LSP trace/ping toward a target label-switched path and inspect the results under ubiMplsTrace to confirm the path is forwarding correctly end-to-end. Global MPLS state under ubiMplsGlobal would be checked to confirm the label-switching subsystem is enabled and operating, with ubiMplsMIBNotifications alerting the operator to any LSP failure or label operation error.
What Can Be Monitored
- LSP trace/diagnostic results
- MPLS global operational state
- label push/pop/swap activity
- LSP failure notifications
