Description: Manages Nokia carrier Ethernet connection profile configuration for subscriber services.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TN-CONN-PROF-MIB?
TN-CONN-PROF-MIB is a Nokia proprietary SNMP MIB for SROS devices that manages connection profiles used by Virtual Leased Line (VLL) services, letting an operator define reusable VLAN-range and description templates applied to subscriber pseudowire connections. It exposes a profile table keyed by profile ID, holding administrative attributes such as row status, last-changed timestamp, free-text description, and an associated VLAN range. This is primarily a configuration/provisioning MIB rather than a hardware/fault-monitoring one, but the row status and last-changed timestamp can be used to monitor the software/configuration state of the profile, confirming it is active and detecting unexpected or unauthorized changes. It is used in conjunction with Nokia's broader VLL/pseudowire service MIBs, since connection profiles only have meaning when bound to a VLL service instance. It is deployed in service-provider networks on Nokia 7750 SR/7450 ESS routers offering Carrier Ethernet VLL services to subscribers. Engineers can download the TN-CONN-PROF-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TN-CONN-PROF-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Nokia 1830 PSS (Photonic Service Switch) optical transport platform
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls tnConnProfTable/tnConnProfEntry keyed by tnConnProfId to verify tnConnProfRowStatus is active and tnConnProfVlanRange matches the intended subscriber VLAN allocation. tnConnProfLastChanged is monitored for unexpected recent changes, which would indicate an unplanned reconfiguration of a live VLL connection profile. tnConnProfDescription provides a human-readable label used to correlate the profile with its associated customer or service in an inventory system.
What Can Be Monitored
- connection profile row status
- last-changed timestamp
- assigned VLAN range
- profile description
