What Is TN-EVC-MIB?
TN-EVC-MIB is a Transition Networks private MIB for managing Ethernet Virtual Circuits (EVCs) on the vendor's managed media-converter and switching platforms. It exposes port-level EVC attributes such as tag mode, DEI mode, and address learning, together with EVC-level attributes like VLAN ID (VID), inner VID, and NNI port list, covering both configuration and operational status of provisioned virtual circuits. From a monitoring standpoint it is used to confirm that Carrier Ethernet services are provisioned and operating as expected -- e.g., that the correct VLANs are mapped to the correct NNI ports and that learning/tagging behavior matches the service design -- functioning as a service/software-status MIB rather than exposing hardware environmentals. It builds on IEEE 802.1ad/MEF Ethernet virtual circuit concepts layered onto Transition Networks' device architecture. It is typically deployed in carrier Ethernet access/aggregation networks where Transition Networks media converters or switches terminate EVCs for business services. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the TN-EVC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TN-EVC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
An operator can poll tnEvcTable/tnEvcEntry using tnEvcIndex to check tnEvcVid and tnEvcIVid against the expected service VLAN mapping, and inspect tnEvcNNIPortlist to confirm the EVC is bound to the correct network-facing ports. Checking tnEvcPortTable's tnEvcPortTagMode and tnEvcPortDEIMode per port can reveal a misconfigured tagging mode that would cause a customer's traffic to be dropped or misclassified.
