What Is TN-TC-MIB?

TN-TC-MIB is Nokia's SNMP textual-conventions module defining shared data types used across Nokia's carrier-Ethernet and SROS (Service Router Operating System) manageability instrumentation. It exposes no monitoring data itself; it standardizes types such as identifiers, enumerations, and encodings that are consumed by the broader Nokia SROS MIB suite, which does expose interface, environmental, and performance data. Inspecting TN-TC-MIB in a MIB Browser mainly reveals these textual-convention definitions rather than any pollable data. Actual hardware/software status monitoring -- uptime, temperature, CPU/memory, port status -- is performed by those dependent Nokia MIBs, not this one. It is imported by numerous Nokia enterprise MIB modules covering SROS-based routers and carrier Ethernet switches, and it is deployed as a supporting module wherever Nokia 7x50-series or similar SROS-based service routers and switches are managed via SNMP.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TN-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Nokia SROS-based service routers and carrier Ethernet switches

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only TEXTUAL-CONVENTION types, with no sample_objects and no runtime tables provided, so nothing here is directly pollable. Nokia's SROS device MIBs covering ports, services, or system health import these conventions to consistently represent identifiers and states. No monitoring scenario is fabricated since this is a types-only support module.
