Description:
The value of the object svcTlsStpBridgeInstanceId indicates a 12 bit value chosen by the the system. It is part of the STP bridge Id, which consists of 8 octets: - 4 highest bits of octet 1: the bridge priority (ref svcTlsStpPriority) - 12 bits (4 lowest bits of octet 1 + 8 bits of octet 2): bridge instance Id (this object!). - 6 octets: bridge MAC addess ref svcTlsStpBridgeAddress The value is set to 0 if svcTlsStpOperStatus is not 'up'.
What is svcTlsStpBridgeInstanceId?
This 12-bit value is part of the spanning-tree bridge ID that uniquely identifies this bridge within the region. It's auto-assigned by the system and combined with priority and MAC address. An operator would observe this value in logs to identify which bridge is blocking ports in a spanning-tree topology.
