The total number of SNMP PDUs which were delivered to the SNMP protocol entity and for which the value of the error-status field was `genErr'.
What is snmpInGenErrs?
This is a running count of SNMP queries that failed for miscellaneous reasons not covered by other error types. It's a catch-all for device bugs or protocol violations. Engineers investigate spikes to find unexpected device behavior or firmware bugs.
