Category: DASAN Networks SLE OLT Management

Description: Manages DASAN Networks SLE v2 OLT SNMP agent configuration, community access, and trap destinations.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SLEV2-SNMP-MIB?

SLEV2-SNMP-MIB is a DASAN Networks (DZS) enterprise MIB for the second-generation SLE OLT platform that manages the device's own SNMP agent, covering community strings, access control, and trap-destination configuration. It exposes agent-level configuration data, namely SNMP community/access settings and the list of trap-receiver hosts, rather than traffic or hardware sensor data. Its monitoring relevance is indirect but important for management-plane software health: verifying trap destinations and community configuration are correct is what guarantees that all the device's other fault and status traps (OAM defects, protection switches, environmental alarms) actually reach the NMS. It depends on the base SNMPv1/v2c/v3 framework MIBs for the underlying protocol machinery it configures. It is deployed on DASAN/DZS SLEv2 OLT chassis as part of initial provisioning and ongoing NMS-integration maintenance. Engineers can download the SLEV2-SNMP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SLEV2-SNMP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • DASAN Networks / DZS SLE-series (v2) OLT

Monitoring Examples

No object/table names were supplied for this module, so a concrete polling example can't be grounded in real identifiers; in practice an operator would verify the configured trap-destination table still points at the current NMS IP after a network re-addressing, since a stale entry would silently blackhole all trap-based alerting from the device.

What Can Be Monitored

  • SNMP community/access configuration
  • trap destination host list
  • SNMP agent enable/version settings
