Category: DASAN Networks SLE OLT Management, MPLS Transport Profile

Description: Manages DASAN Networks SLE OLT MPLS-TP protection interface configuration and switchover controls.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SLE-MPLS-TP-PRO-IF-MIB?

SLE-MPLS-TP-PRO-IF-MIB is a DASAN Networks (DZS) enterprise MIB for SLE-series OLTs that governs MPLS-TP protection-interface behavior, the linear or ring protection switching used to keep transport paths alive when a working path fails. It exposes protection-group configuration (working/protection interface pairing, switching mode) and operational state such as which path is currently active and whether a switchover is pending, rather than raw traffic counters. Its monitoring value centers on control-plane software health: an operator can see whether traffic is riding the working or protection path, whether a forced/manual switchover is outstanding, and whether the last automatic protection switch succeeded. It builds on generic MPLS-TP traffic-engineering object definitions (drawn from IETF MPLS-TP TE work, as referenced in its module description) that define the tunnels/interfaces being protected. It is deployed on DASAN/DZS SLE OLT platforms in MPLS-TP access/aggregation networks requiring fast protection switching for carrier-grade availability. Engineers can download the SLE-MPLS-TP-PRO-IF-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SLE-MPLS-TP-PRO-IF-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Dasan Networks SLE-series carrier switches

Monitoring Examples

No concrete object or table names were provided for this module, so a specific polling example can't be grounded in real identifiers; in practice an admin would poll the protection-group's active-path indicator after a fiber cut to confirm traffic switched from the working to the protection interface within the expected time window.

What Can Be Monitored

  • active working/protection path selection
  • protection switchover state
  • manual/forced switch requests
  • protection group configuration
