What Is SLE-MPLS-TP-VPLS-MIB?

SLE-MPLS-TP-VPLS-MIB is a vendor MIB from DASAN Networks for managing MPLS-TP based Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) instances on DASAN SLE optical line terminal (OLT) and carrier Ethernet platforms. It exposes configuration and operational data for VPLS forwarding instances, pseudowires, and the MPLS-TP transport paths that carry them across a packet-optical access or aggregation network. Because VPLS forwarding depends on healthy underlying MPLS-TP tunnels, this MIB is used to monitor the operational status of VPLS service instances so operators can quickly detect a service-affecting fault such as a broken pseudowire or a down transport path rather than waiting for a customer complaint. It builds on and depends on the companion MPLS-TP MIBs (e.g. tunnel/LSP MIBs) that define the underlying transport layer this VPLS service rides on. It is typically deployed in carrier Ethernet access networks where DASAN OLTs provide Layer 2 VPN services to business or mobile-backhaul customers. Engineers can download the SLE-MPLS-TP-VPLS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SLE-MPLS-TP-VPLS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • DASAN Networks SLE OLT
  • carrier Ethernet / MPLS-TP access switch

Monitoring Examples

No object or table names were provided in the source data for this module, so a concrete polling example cannot be grounded in real identifiers; in general use, an operator would poll per-VPLS-instance status and pseudowire state objects to confirm a service instance remains operationally up and to catch a transition to down when a transport path fails.
