What Is RFC1284-MIB?

RFC1284-MIB implements the early "Definitions of Managed Objects for Ethernet-like Interface Types" specification (RFC 1284), a vendor-neutral IETF module later superseded by the EtherLike-MIB (RFC 1398, then RFC 2665/3635). It defines objects for monitoring Ethernet-like network interfaces, primarily statistics counters such as collisions, frame check errors, and other MAC-layer error conditions per interface.
