Description: An index value that uniquely identifies an interface to an ethernet-like medium. The interface identified by a particular value of this index is the same interface as identified by the same value of ifIndex.
What is dot3StatsIndex?
A unique index identifying which Ethernet-like interface a row in the dot3StatsTable's error and collision counters belongs to, matching the corresponding ifIndex value. An admin uses it to correlate per-interface counters like dot3StatsSQETestErrors or dot3StatsCarrierSenseErrors back to a specific physical port. For example, dot3StatsIndex 5 ties that row's statistics to the same port identified by ifIndex 5 in the standard interfaces table.
