Category: Link Aggregation

Description: Configures IEEE 802.3ad link aggregation groups and LACP parameters on Raisecom switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is RAISECOM-LINKAGGREGATION-MIB?

RAISECOM-LINKAGGREGATION-MIB is a Raisecom switch MIB configuring IEEE 802.3ad link aggregation groups and LACP parameters to bundle multiple physical links into one logical channel. It exposes group-level configuration such as configured member ports, aggregation mode, and minimum/maximum link thresholds, alongside the currently active member ports actually participating in the bundle. Comparing the configured member ports against the currently active ones is a key software/protocol health check: it reveals whether the link aggregation group has degraded because one or more member links have gone down, a resiliency and performance concern rather than a hardware-sensor metric. It implements the IEEE 802.3ad/802.1AX LACP standard and typically parallels concepts found in the standard IEEE8023-LAG-MIB. It is deployed on Raisecom switches using link aggregation for increased bandwidth and redundancy between switches or toward upstream routers, where RAISECOM-LINKAGGREGATION-MIB SNMP monitoring helps confirm the aggregation group hasn't quietly degraded.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RAISECOM-LINKAGGREGATION-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Raisecom carrier/metro Ethernet switch

Monitoring Examples

rcLinkAggregationGroupTable/Entry, indexed by rcLinkAggregationGroupID, exposes rcLinkAggregationGroupSettingPorts (configured member ports) versus rcLinkAggregationGroupCurrentPorts (ports actually active in the bundle), along with rcLinkAggregationGroupMode and rcLinkAggregationGroupMinLinks/MaxLinks. An admin polling this would detect LAG degradation if rcLinkAggregationGroupCurrentPorts contains fewer ports than configured and drops below rcLinkAggregationGroupMinLinks, since the aggregation group could then go down entirely. rcLinkAggregationLoadSharingMode and rcLinkAggregationStatus provide additional global context on how traffic is being load-balanced across the bundle.

What Can Be Monitored

  • configured vs currently active LAG member ports
  • link aggregation group mode (static/LACP)
  • minimum/maximum links thresholds per group
  • load-sharing algorithm/status
