Description: Manages DHCPv6 server and relay configuration for IPv6 address assignment on Marvell switches.

What Is RADLAN-DHCPv6?
RADLAN-DHCPv6 is a Marvell/RADLAN private enterprise MIB that manages DHCPv6 features on RADLAN-based Ethernet switches, the embedded switch software stack licensed by numerous OEM switch vendors. It exposes configuration objects for the switch's DHCPv6 client, server, and relay-agent roles, including DUID (DHCP Unique Identifier) enablement, grouped under common, client, and relay branches. This is primarily a configuration/control MIB rather than a hardware-health MIB: it lets an administrator verify which DHCPv6 role is active on the switch and whether DUID-based identification is enabled, which indirectly reflects the operational status of IPv6 address assignment on the network segment. It is built on the standard DHCPv6 protocol (RFC 3315) but implemented as a RADLAN private-enterprise extension rather than the IETF DHCPv6 MIB. It is typically deployed on managed Layer 2/3 switches providing DHCPv6 relay or server functionality for IPv6 client address assignment in an enterprise LAN. Engineers can download the RADLAN-DHCPv6 file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RADLAN-DHCPv6. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Marvell/RADLAN-based managed Ethernet switch
- OEM switches licensing the RADLAN software stack (e.g., NETGEAR, D-Link, Edge-Core)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would check rlDhcpv6Relay to confirm the switch is correctly forwarding DHCPv6 requests toward the real DHCPv6 server, and rlDhcpv6Client/rlDhcpv6Common to verify the switch's own DUID and client-mode settings are as expected. If devices on a VLAN suddenly fail to obtain IPv6 addresses, polling rlDhcpv6Common and rlDhcpv6DuidEn can reveal that the relay role was inadvertently disabled or DUID configuration is inconsistent. This MIB reports DHCPv6 role/configuration state rather than packet-level counters.
What Can Be Monitored
- DHCPv6 client mode status
- DHCPv6 server mode status
- DHCPv6 relay agent status
- DUID enablement
- common DHCPv6 configuration state
