Category: System Management, Vendor: RADLAN/Cisco SB

Description: Exposes debug capability flags and diagnostic mode settings on Marvell switch platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is RADLAN-DEBUGCAPABILITIES-MIB?

RADLAN-DEBUGCAPABILITIES-MIB is a vendor-specific private MIB from RADLAN/Marvell intended to unlock extended debugging capabilities on the device, such as elevated management access for technical support personnel. Its scope is narrow, consisting primarily of a password-gated object (rlDebugCapabilitiesPassword) that controls whether advanced diagnostic/debug functions are enabled. It relates to software status monitoring only indirectly, in that it governs whether a device is currently in an elevated debug/support mode rather than exposing performance or environmental telemetry itself. It has no apparent dependency on other standard MIBs, being a small proprietary gating mechanism. It is typically used by vendor technical support staff, not general network administrators, when a Marvell/RADLAN-based switch needs deeper diagnostic access during troubleshooting. Engineers can download the RADLAN-DEBUGCAPABILITIES-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RADLAN-DEBUGCAPABILITIES-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Marvell (formerly RADLAN) managed Ethernet switches

Monitoring Examples

A support engineer would set rlDebugCapabilitiesPassword to unlock extended debug/diagnostic functionality on the device for a troubleshooting session; there are no runtime performance or status counters exposed by this module to poll for ongoing monitoring.

What Can Be Monitored

  • debug capability password/unlock state
