Category: Network Management, Products/Registration

Description: Manages network module hardware inventory and operational status for modular enterprise platform devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is PNETMOD-MIB?

PNETMOD-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB covering network module hardware inventory and power/environmental status for a modular enterprise platform, likely from a power/network infrastructure vendor (referenced internally as "bke"). It exposes objects for power grid state and fuse status, power source state and current, and battery/accumulator (accu) health including voltage, current, temperature, and fuse condition, along with an alarm table and output state/fuse objects. This MIB is strongly oriented toward hardware status monitoring, specifically power system and battery backup health rather than traditional CPU/software metrics: it reports on grid power, battery temperature and voltage, fuse integrity, and active alarms. It appears to be a self-contained proprietary MIB without notable dependency on standard IETF MIBs. It is typically deployed in telecom or network equipment cabinets with battery backup and power distribution modules, where continuous power/environmental monitoring is critical to service continuity, monitored via the PNETMOD-MIB MIB.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PNETMOD-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • modular power/network distribution module (vendor-specific, likely telecom power equipment)

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll accuVoltage and accuCurrent to check the health of the battery backup system, and accuTemperature to catch overheating that could shorten battery life or trigger safety concerns; accuFuse and outFuse indicate whether protective fuses are intact. Checking gridState and powerSourceState reveals whether the unit is running on mains power or has failed over to battery, and the alarmTable would surface any active alarm conditions such as a blown fuse or low battery voltage. A gridState transition combined with rising accuCurrent would indicate the system has switched to battery power and is now drawing down the backup supply.

What Can Be Monitored

  • grid power state and fuse status
  • power source state and current
  • battery/accumulator voltage, current, temperature, fuse
  • output state and fuse
  • active alarms
