Category: DSL and Broadband

Description: Provides unified xDSL interface management objects covering line configuration, attainable rates, and margin reporting across DSL variants on Paradyne gear.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is PDN-XDSL-INTERFACE-MIB?

PDN-XDSL-INTERFACE-MIB is a Paradyne (built on PDN-HEADER-MIB) proprietary MIB providing generic xDSL interface configuration, plus RADSL- and MVL-specific extensions. Its generic-config table, keyed by ifIndex, records port-speed behavior, margin threshold, port ID, link-up/down-transition threshold, and line-encoding type/rate mode; a RADSL-specific table adds fixed/adaptive upper-lower bound port speeds (up/down), Reed-Solomon FEC, startup margin, and TX-power attenuation; and an MVL-specific table adds max port speed and on-hook/off-hook TX-power attenuation. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm upstream/downstream rate-adaptation and power-attenuation settings on a Paradyne xDSL device. It is deployed on Paradyne Networks xDSL equipment. Engineers can download the PDN-XDSL-INTERFACE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PDN-XDSL-INTERFACE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Paradyne Networks xDSL equipment

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks xdslDevRADSLSpecificIfConfigUpAdaptiveUpperBoundPortSpeed to confirm the upstream rate-adaptation ceiling on a Paradyne xDSL device.
