What Is PANDATEL-GMSF-MODEM-MIB?
PANDATEL-GMSF-MODEM-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB for Pandatel's GMSF series HDSL/leased-line modems, a variant within the same rack-mounted line-modem family as the GMS series, used to extend telecom circuits over copper pairs. It exposes rack/slot inventory and identification, interface emulation mode, HDSL unit configuration, and clock system/source and data rate settings for each modem. Its monitoring focus is hardware status - confirming a modem's slot position and identity, its clock source/synchronization state, and configured data rate, which together indicate whether the HDSL line unit is provisioned correctly and free of synchronization problems. As a self-contained vendor line-modem MIB it has no evident dependency on standard IETF MIBs. It's deployed in the same telecom rack environments as other Pandatel modem product lines, managed via a central element management system. Engineers can download the PANDATEL-GMSF-MODEM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PANDATEL-GMSF-MODEM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Pandatel GMSF series HDSL modem
Monitoring Examples
An operator would enumerate gmsfModemTable/gmsfTableEntry rows by mdmRack, mdmModem, and mdmPosition to inventory GMSF cards in a chassis, then check mdmClockSource and mdmClockSystem to confirm proper network clock synchronization on a given unit. mdmDataRate would be polled to verify the configured line rate, and mdmInterfaceEmulationMode would be checked to confirm the modem is presenting the correct interface emulation to its attached equipment.
What Can Be Monitored
- modem rack/slot position
- clock source/synchronization status
- data rate configuration
- interface emulation mode
