Description: Manages Pandatel FHFLS series fiber-to-copper modem configuration, line status, and performance statistics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is PANDATEL-FHFLS-MODEM-MIB?

PANDATEL-FHFLS-MODEM-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Pandatel for its FHFLS series fiber-to-copper (fiber/HDSL/leased-line) modem products, used to manage rack-mounted modem shelves and their individual modem cards. It exposes configuration data such as interface emulation mode, clock system and clock source, data rate, and remote access mode, organized per modem by rack and position (mdmRack, mdmPosition). Its monitoring value centers on the operational and configuration status of each modem card rather than deep performance counters, letting an operator confirm that a given modem's clocking, data rate, and interface settings match what the link requires and that the card is present and correctly identified in its slot. Because these are point-to-point line modems, dependency on higher-layer MIBs like IF-MIB is limited, with most status expressed through Pandatel's own fhflsModemTable. It is typically deployed in telecom access rooms where FHFLS modem racks extend copper interfaces (e.g. E1/serial) over fiber links. Engineers can download the PANDATEL-FHFLS-MODEM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PANDATEL-FHFLS-MODEM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Pandatel FHFLS fiber-to-copper modem shelf/rack systems

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll fhflsModemTable/fhflsTableEntry for a given mdmRack/mdmPosition to read mdmModemName, mdmClockSource, and mdmDataRate, confirming that a modem is configured for the expected clock source (e.g. line vs. internal) and data rate. A mismatch between mdmInterfaceEmulationMode and the connected equipment, or an unexpected mdmRemoteAccessMode setting, would explain a link that trains but passes no traffic correctly.

What Can Be Monitored

  • modem presence per rack/position
  • modem name/identification
  • interface emulation mode
  • clock system and clock source
  • data rate
  • remote access mode
