Description: Manages internal transport service circuits and cross-connect configuration on Net Insight Nimbra nodes.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is NETI-ITS-MIB?

NETI-ITS-MIB is a Net Insight MIB for Isochronous Transport Services (ITS) on the Nimbra DTM network, covering transparent transport of time-sensitive traffic such as PDH primary rates, video (DVB/SD-SDI/HD-SDI), audio (AES-EBU), and SDH. It exposes an interface table describing each ITS trail's identity, description, speed, capabilities, and loopback/alarm-suppression configuration. It supports monitoring interface-level operational status and software configuration: itsIfLastChange indicates when an interface's state last changed, itsIfLoopMode/itsIfLoopTime show whether a diagnostic loopback is currently active, and itsIfSuppressAlarm shows whether alarm reporting is muted on that interface - collectively used to verify each isochronous circuit is passing live traffic rather than looping back or having its alarms silenced. It works alongside NETI-EVENT-MIB, which carries the actual alarm/event notifications for state changes reported through this MIB's interface table. It is deployed in broadcast, video contribution, and telecom transport networks using Net Insight Nimbra DTM equipment to carry isochronous, time-sensitive signals, and engineers can download the NETI-ITS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NETI-ITS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Net Insight Nimbra DTM transport network node

Monitoring Examples

itsIfTable/itsIfEntry, indexed by itsIfIndex, exposes itsIfName, itsIfDescr, itsIfSpeed, itsIfCapabilities, itsIfLoopMode, and itsIfSuppressAlarm for each ITS trail. An operator polling itsIfLastChange alongside itsIfLoopMode who finds a circuit unexpectedly in an active loopback state can immediately explain a corresponding live video or audio feed interruption. Checking itsIfSuppressAlarm helps confirm whether a genuinely faulted circuit is simply not raising alarms because suppression was left enabled after maintenance.

What Can Be Monitored

  • ITS interface/trail operational status
  • interface speed
  • loopback mode state
  • alarm suppression setting per interface
  • last interface state change time
