What Is NETI-DTM-MIB?

NETI-DTM-MIB manages Dynamic synchronous Transfer Mode (DTM) network configuration on Net Insight equipment, a circuit-switched, time-division based networking technology used for deterministic, low-latency media and data transport. It exposes address and host-mapping configuration data, DTM network addresses (with alias flags and address types) and a hosts table binding DTM addresses to human-readable node names, supporting circuit provisioning across a DTM network element. Though centered on addressing/topology configuration rather than raw performance counters, it is used to confirm the software-level identity and reachability configuration of a DTM node, a prerequisite check before circuit-level performance troubleshooting; row status objects also let administrators confirm the operational validity of each configured address entry. It is a vendor-specific extension built around DTM technology rather than a public IETF standard, so it has no dependency on generic IETF interface MIBs beyond conventional SNMP row-status conventions. It is deployed on Net Insight Nimbra DTM nodes used in professional broadcast and telecom backbone networks requiring guaranteed-bandwidth circuit transport. Engineers can download the NETI-DTM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NETI-DTM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples

An operator would walk dtmAddrTable/dtmAddrEntry by dtmAddrEntryIndex to confirm a node's dtmAddrEntryAddr is correctly provisioned and dtmAddrEntryRowStatus shows active rather than notReady, which would indicate an incomplete address configuration blocking circuit setup. Cross-referencing dtmHostsTable/dtmHostsEntry lets the operator confirm that a dtmHostsEntryAddr resolves to the expected dtmHostsEntryName, catching naming/address mismatches that could misroute a DTM circuit. The dtmAddrEntryIsAlias flag distinguishes primary from alias addresses, useful when diagnosing why traffic destined for an alias address isn't reaching the expected DTM interface.
