Description: Cisco ME1200 Metro Ethernet switch MIB defining access control list (ACL) rules and policy configuration objects.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ME1200-ACL-MIB?
This is a Cisco private MIB for the ME1200 Metro Ethernet access switch, defining access control list (ACL) rules, rate limiters, and ingress port policy configuration. It exposes tables for ACL access control entries (ACEs), their lookup order and next-ACE chaining, ingress port lists, and rate limiter definitions specifying packet-rate and bit-rate limits. Its monitoring value is around configuration/policy state—verifying which ACL rules and rate limiters are active on which ports, and catching misconfigured or unexpectedly disabled filtering policies—rather than hardware sensor data, since ACL processing is a switch software/forwarding-plane function. It is a vendor-private MIB specific to the ME1200 platform with no strong dependency on external standard MIBs evident from the object set. Typical deployment is on Cisco ME1200 Metro Ethernet switches used by service providers for Carrier Ethernet access and aggregation. Engineers can download the ME1200-ACL-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ME1200-ACL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco ME1200 Metro Ethernet access switch
Monitoring Examples
An operator would walk me1200AclAceTable, keyed by me1200AclAceId, to confirm the expected ACE rules are present and check me1200AclAceIngressPortList to verify which physical ports a rule applies to, along with me1200AclAceLookup to understand the match criteria in use. The me1200AclRateLimiterTable lets an admin confirm a given me1200AclRateLimiterId enforces the intended me1200AclRateLimiterPacketRate or me1200AclRateLimiterBitRate (when me1200AclRateLimiterBitRateEnable is set), catching cases where a rate limiter is misapplied and causing unexpected traffic drops. Chained rules can be traced via me1200AclAceNextAceId to validate the overall ACL processing order.
What Can Be Monitored
- active ACL rules per port
- ACE match/lookup criteria
- rate limiter packet/bit rate settings
- ingress port list per ACL rule
