Description: Cisco ME1200 Metro Ethernet switch MIB providing link aggregation (LAG/LACP) configuration and status objects.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ME1200-AGGR-MIB?

ME1200-AGGR-MIB is a Cisco private MIB for the ME1200 Metro Ethernet access switch family, covering static link aggregation (LAG) configuration, distinct from dynamic LACP. It exposes configuration data such as the global load-balancing hash mode (source/destination MAC, IP, or TCP/UDP port), and a per-aggregation-group table listing group index, member ports, and pending row-editor actions used to add or remove groups. As a configuration-oriented module it is used to verify the software-configured state of link aggregation groups -- confirming which physical ports are bundled together and how traffic is load-balanced across them -- rather than reporting hardware faults directly, though a group missing expected member ports can flag a link or configuration problem. It is a Cisco private extension built on top of IEEE 802.3ad/LACP concepts and typically complements the standard IF-MIB for interface-level statistics. It is typically deployed on ME1200 switches used for Ethernet access/aggregation in metro and carrier Ethernet networks. Engineers can download the ME1200-AGGR-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ME1200-AGGR-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco ME1200 Metro Ethernet switch

Monitoring Examples

An operator would read me1200AggrGroupConfigTable/me1200AggrGroupConfigEntry, keyed by me1200AggrGroupConfigAggrIndexNo, to see which me1200AggrGroupConfigPortMembers belong to a given LAG and whether a pending me1200AggrGroupConfigAction (add/delete) has completed. The global me1200AggrModeGlobalsSmacAddr/DmacAddr and me1200AggrModeGlobalsSourceAndDestinationIpAddr settings indicate which hashing scheme is active for load distribution across the aggregated links. If an expected port is missing from me1200AggrGroupConfigPortMembers, that would reveal a link that dropped out of the aggregation group, reducing available bandwidth.

What Can Be Monitored

  • LAG/aggregation group membership
  • aggregation load-balancing mode
  • aggregation group index
  • port members in a LAG
  • aggregation group add/delete action status
