Description: LaserJet-Series8100-Stapler-MIB module

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is LaserJet-Series8100-Stapler-MIB?

This HP proprietary MIB covers the stapler/finisher accessory for the HP LaserJet 8100 series printer, functionally similar to the 8000-series stapler MIB but scoped to the 8100 platform's engine and finisher hardware. It exposes objects for extended paper trays and multiple output bins (outbin3 through outbin6), including media size loaded, paper-handling-device (phd) status, override mode, and maximum binding capacity. It is used to monitor hardware status of the stapling/finishing hardware: tray media state, per-bin paper-handling device health, and bin capacity, together revealing jam conditions or a full output bin that would interrupt stapled print jobs. It extends the base HP LaserJet 8100 printer MIB and the standard Printer MIB (RFC 3805) framework common to the HP LaserJet finishing-accessory MIB family. It is deployed in office/print-room environments where an HP LaserJet 8100 is fitted with a stapling finisher accessory for automated collated, stapled output. Engineers can download the LaserJet-Series8100-Stapler-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in LaserJet-Series8100-Stapler-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HP LaserJet 8100 series printer with stapler/finisher accessory

Monitoring Examples

outbin3-phd through outbin5-phd status objects reveal whether the stapler's paper path/bin hardware is functioning normally per bin, helping pinpoint which physical bin is jammed on the 8100 finisher. outbin4-maximum-binding and outbin5-maximum-binding define bin capacity thresholds so an administrator can tell when a stapled output bin is nearing full, while tray6-media-size-loaded confirms the correct paper stock is loaded for stapled jobs.

What Can Be Monitored

  • output bin paper-handling-device status
  • output bin fill/capacity
  • extra tray media size loaded
  • output bin override mode
